ALADDIN - NEW DISNEY LIVE-ACTION FILM #Aladdin

Raise your hand if you have been loving these live-action films of Disney classic animated shows.

Guess what...my favorite Aladdin is next! I've heard news that Aladdin casting is complete and production is currently underway at Longcross Studios outside London.
Here is a selfie of a few of the ALADDIN cast members Will Smith (“Genie”), Mena Massoud (“Aladdin”), Naomi Scott (“Princess Jasmine”) and Marwan Kenzari(“Jafar”).
The film is being directed by Guy Ritchie.

Disney / Pixar CARS 3 MOVIE PRINTABLES #CARS3

Disney/Pixar’s CARS 3 is now playing in theatres everywhere! I had the opportunity to see it a few days before it opened at a special screening. I haven't seen the previous Cars movies, but I sure loved this one.
CARS 3 is full of humor that is the perfect film for the whole family to enjoy.
Lightning McQueen made his rookie debut in “Cars” in 2006; more than a decade has passed since he was a young superstar. Next-gen racer Jackson Storm races at speeds pushing 207 mph which is a bit faster than McQueen, but he doesn't let that get him down. Instead, he uses it to help him become a better racer with the help of his strong spirited Trainer Cruz Ramirez. Cruz's training style is high-tech. Will Lightning McQueen be able to keep up?
I'm not going to spoil the movie for you, but I will share some fun printables to keep the #cars3 excitement going at your house.

A PIRATE'S DEATH FOR ME #PiratesOfTheCaribbean

I love everything pirates including the Pirates of the Caribbean movies. Well, guess what...there is a new one coming to theaters this weekend starring: Johnny Depp, Javier Bardem, Brenton Thwaites, Kevin R. McNally, Kaya Scodelario, Golshifteh Farahani, Stephen Graham, David Wenham and Geoffrey Rush.

Captain Jack Sparrow is back, but is feeling the winds of ill-fortune blowing strongly his way when deadly ghost sailors, led by the terrifying Captain Salazar, escape from the Devil's Triangle bent on killing every pirate at sea including Jack. Jack's only hope of survival lies in the legendary Trident of Poseidon, an uneasy alliance with a brilliant and beautiful astronomer, and getting help from a headstrong sailor in the Royal Navy (who is the son of well-known characters from previous pirates movies). There are sea-filled twists throughout the film that will keep your interest.

ROGUE ONE: A STAR WARS STORY

How many of you are excited for the new Disney Star Wars film?
ROGUE ONE: A STAR WARS STORY is now playing in theatres everywhere (since 12/16).
In a time of conflict, this film attempts to tell the story of how a small band of rebels were able to steal the plans to the Death Star, the Empire’s ultimate weapon of destruction. This key event in the Star Wars timeline brings together ordinary people who choose to do extraordinary things, and in doing so, become part of something greater than themselves.
Here is one of my favorite Jyn Erso scene played by Academy Award nominee Felicity Jones:

#MothersDayMovie

Mother's Day is a holiday honoring motherhood and it is fast approaching (reminder to send a card or call).
Mother's Day is also a soon-to-be-released film that invites us all to enjoy the laughter, tears, and love as 3 generations come together in the week leading up to the holiday.

Open Road Films has created this star-studded comedy just in time for the big day. I had the opportunity to take my mom and my expecting friend Jessica to theater to watch it last night. I was a little nervous about what to expect. I have seen other films similar to this (with several stories that somehow are supposed to combine in the end) and totally was unimpressed. This movie made it work. It tells the story of a newly widowed father and his daughters, a divorcee and the problems that arise with new people in their personal and children's lives, a business woman, a young couple struggling with the idea of marriage, and sisters who don't know how to speak to their parent's anymore.
My favorite story of the film is the young couple. One of them wants to tie the knot, but the other is holding back because they still need to "find out/discover who they are." Doubts, fears, and uncertainty can often old us back from progressing in life, but if we can learn to trust in others (and most importantly ourselves) we can move forward with faith. I know it is easier said than done and we all make mistakes or hold back, but it is never too late to open our hearts and let love in.

*The film also helped me realize all moms are a little bit crazy (just as much as children, dads, and friends are crazy too).*

THE JUNGLE BOOK

I was recently talking with one of my favorite humans about who we would want to have as celebrity neighbors.  We both agreed on Bill Murray.
The next day, I had the opportunity to see the new movie The Jungle Book (directed by Jon Favreau (“Iron Man”), based on Rudyard Kipling’s timeless story and inspired by Disney’s classic animated film) in the theater and I was surprised to hear Mr. Murray's voice as Baloo the Bear. I think he was my favorite part of the movie.
In fact, the film has a fabulous cast for voices of the characters including: Idris Elba, Scarlett Johansson, Lupita Nyong’o, Sir Ben Kingsley, Christopher Walken, and Giancarlo Esposito. The film blends live-action with photorealistic CGI animals and environments and uses up-to-the-minute technology and storytelling techniques. It is fabulous and totally worth seeing in 3D and IMAX 3D.

Here are some fun movie printables for you to enjoy to help contain your excitement for the movie.

MOVIES AND STUFF

The Oscars were handed out this weekend. Lots of people are talking about it. I don't have anything to say about the awards, but they are all about good films so I want to share my ideas about an inspiring one I saw just the other night.
I went to the theater to see Eddie the Eagle. It is inspired by an amazing true story. The two main characters are Eddie the athlete who won't give up on his dream and Bronson Peary who has given up on everything. Most of the other people in the movie are there telling Eddie he can't reach his dream.

I have been thinking: what type of person am I? I never want to be the one who puts someone down.
We all need to say goodbye to the silly things and people that hold us back and have courage to believe in ourselves. We might have to change the details of our plans slightly along the way, but with our eye on the target, we can do anything. We are all worth it.

It's time to let go of anything that is keeping us down and learn to fly like an eagle.
Now go see the movie.

Kia Kaha - STAY STRONG

I shared some advice in a post yesterday that was given to me. You know, the one that says: "If someone breaks your heart, just punch them in the face. Seriously. Punch them in the face and go get some ice cream."
Well, I went with my pal Joe for some ice cream. We got the cute cones with two scoops. I even tried the #snacknado flavor from Baskin Robbins....that's how badly I needed ice cream.
After the treat, we watched the movie Forever Strong. It's from 2008 and has my favorite bad guy Neal McDonough in it (the guy with the white hair and super blue eyes). It's based on a true story about a high school rugby player who gets busted for drunk driving and sent to a Juvenile Detention Center. He is too selfish and stubborn to learn anything there, so his counselor (Rudy!) allows him to play on the Highland rugby team with the amazing coach Larry Gelwix. Coach Gelwix has an odd approach to coaching that won him over 360 games in his coaching history. *Blah blah blah...(spoiler alert) the kid learns his lesson, he gets a hug from his dad at the end, and they win the championship.
Throughout the movie, the main character keeps trying to play his own match, while the coach is trying to teach him they win/score/play as a team. At the end, coach tells him, "Don't spend another minute being angry about yesterday." This got me thinking. Yesterday, my feelings were SUPER hurt. While I won't allow myself to do things that will harm my integrity, I also won't abandon you. That's right...once I let you in my heart, you are forever on my team. I will be there for you through your good and bad times. I will be there to punch you when you may need it (just to say straighten up), but I promise not to punch you and walk away. I want you to succeed. I want us to succeed. I can't force anything, but I can offer my help and love and THAT will always stay strong. Kia Kaha.
I love you; you're my friend.

ALEXANDER AND THE TERRIBLE, HORRIBLE, NO GOOD, VERY BAD DAY

ALEXANDER AND THE TERRIBLE, HORRIBLE, NO GOOD, VERY BAD DAY opened in theaters on October 10, 2014. I saw it last week with my best friend and I am pretty sure we were both laughing the entire show. If you have not seen it yet, you must go see it! The cast is fantastic. I'm sure we can all relate to having some terrible, horrible, no good, very bad days...but it sure is funny to watch one that isn't yours on the big screen. Here are some fun movie printables to get you excited for this film.
