GRAND COAT

Disclosure: I got this product as part of an advertorial.

I chose a short haired dog because I thought it would be easy to take care of her/it. Little did I know
*she sheds like crazy
*her short hairs are really coarse and stick in EVERY thing
*her white fur is hard to keep bright and white
In hopes of controlling those problems a little bit, I decided to try Grand Coat - Advanced Skin & Coat Formula. It is available for all sizes of dogs (Feeding directions: Dogs 20-40lbs - 1 wafer daily, 40-60lbs - 2 wafers daily, and over 60lbs. - 3 wafers daily).
The wafers have Omega 3&6 Fatty Acids, Biotin, Antioxidants, Lecithin, and other natural ingredients that are supposed to help prevent and control: hot spots, dermatitis, skin allergies, shedding, and dull, dry brittle coats.
Sounds like a dream to me. The directions say they can be given as a treat or mixed with food. Day-Z prefers treats over food in her dish. I'll admit the chewable beef flavored wafers smell horrible to me. Dayz does have a love for all things stinky, but for some reason she wouldn't swallow these alone. So I add a little Kong Easy Treat on top and she gladly gobbles the wafer up.
Honest review: I have noticed Grand Coat has worked quickly to provide a soft, silky coat and healthy skin on Day-Z. I swear I my clothes aren't as completely covered with her white hair as much as they used to be before she started taking the wafers.
I found out for over 20 years Grand Meadows Animal Health has supplied high quality products and earned an exceptional reputation for researching and formulating effective nutritional supplements like the wafers I mentioned above.
I want only the best for myself and the same for my best friend!

KITCHEN SCALE

Disclosure: I got this product as part of an advertorial.

A new year means new resolutions, right?! Here is my goal: I am going to keep my bathroom scale numbers down by keeping an eye on my kitchen scale. Yes, I will eat healthier in 2014 and control my servings with the help of my new MIRA Stainless Steel Kitchen Scale.
It has a large, easy to read display that allows you to measure in grams, pounds or ounces and gives accurate measurements in 1g/0.1 oz increments (up to 11 lbs/5 Kgs) for those serious about their measuring (or Weight Watchers members like Jessica Simpson).
This scale also has a TARE function that ignores your dish so it weighs only the food inside.
It doesn't have a ton of buttons to push to confuse me.
It's totally easy to use and easy to clean.
I like that it is thin and doesn't take up tons of space on the counter.
Best part: it comes with a full 2 year warranty and batteries ARE included with purchase!
Let's get cooking. Feel free to pass on some of your favorite recipes, please.

JAM PAPER Valentine's Day Cards

Disclosure: I got this product as part of an advertorial.

I'm a big homemade card fan and a big Valentine's Day fan (ok I pretty much love EVERY holiday or reason to create things with coordinating shapes or colors to celebrate). I am not, however, a big pink fluffy fan. So I am using black cardstock for my holiday greetings this year.
Here's everything I used (pretty simple list):
I got the paper and brown kraft paper bag envelopes (which are my favorite) from a site called Jam Paper. It is a family owned and operated company that has been around for over 55 years. "JAM" stands for Janet, Andrew and Michael Jacobs, a tight-knit family who heads the company's operations. How cute is that?!
They offer a big variety of envelopes, paper/cardstock, notecards, folders, wrapping paper, pens/markers, and office supplies. JAM has a no minimum order policy which means you can buy as much or as little as you want. Of course, if you want to buy product for business promotional mailings, wedding invitations or party invites, you can get volume discounts. You can also have their goods shipped anywhere in the world.
You can easily shop by style, color, and size for your perfect crafting supplies. They have hard to find colors and designs like vellum, leather, recycled linen, foil lined, padded, and so many more envelopes.
Add a little help from the kitty, and we are ready to start making cards.
The linen cardstock is thin and nicely folds into fourths to create a card. I'm totally into chalkboards right now so I chose the black paper. It is super easy to write on it with chalk, gel pens, crayons, or colored pencils. Choose white or light colors for best results.
I cut notches on the sides of the card so it wouldn't bend or bow when I wrapped the cute string around it. Then I added a little matching flare to the envelop.
An up close and personal view of the front of the card.
Here is a full shot of the final product…ready with plenty of time to get them sent out to loved ones.

FUNDANCE

It was #Sundance Film Festival time here in Park City, UT. I only made it up the last few days, but I was able to get in lots of fun.
My friend Jessica and I listened to KT Tunstall (maybe you don't recognize her name, but you'd recognize "that one song" if you google her), LeeAnn Womack& a few others.
Walked Main Street with the other festivalers
 Made a few friends
Tried on some heavy Canada Goose jackets #AskAnyoneWhoKnows

Tasted my first veggie burger at the MorningStar Farms® Veggie Burger Bar
with my new pal Ava.
(They were surprisingly very yummy.)
 Visited some photo booths #ChaseSapphire
Glammed up with #lorealsundance
(thanks for the nail polish)
Drank plenty of water thanks to Brita® FilterForGood®

...and plenty of movies!

HOBBIT INSPIRED DECOR

I may not be the biggest Hobbit movie fan (please don't hate me), but I am a big set design fan. I must admit the decor and that awesome round hobbit door is fabulous.
I could handle living in a super fabulous Hobbit home with a dramatic entrance like that including that beautiful chandelier.
I'm pretty sure this door would make your house the coolest on the block. I don't know if it is possible to have one of those installed, but the lock and key system is just plain amazing.
Those knobs are gorgeous and the keys remind of my days in Europe (yes, their keys really look like that).

To see more of the decor up close and personal, and possibly create your own house under the hill, check out this article here.

X COUNTRY

What's a girl to do when one of her best friends sends her message saying her flight was delayed in Utah for an extra day?
#1 I pulled out these (totally appropriate and amazing) best friend beanies
#2 We drove up the canyon to conquer this
#3 We quickly changed our minds and rented these
to Cross-country ski where is was much more flat and safe
#4 We elected a fearless map reading leader
#5 We snapped lots of photos of us in action like we are professionals

#6 We actually did a lot of this
(When did I get older and become such a chicken?!)
Thank you Danae, Aspen Grove, and Mother Nature for a fun afternoon.

1 Year ANNIVERSARY

Day-Z and I have been best friends for 1 year!
Happy anniversary and birthday, my sweet pooch.
What did we do to celebrate?
We went to the store where she picked out a treat, played at the dog park, and then stopped at the Humane Society shelter where I found her to get updated on her vaccinations.
She likes to party!
