WW: ON THE NEWS!

My dog and my double chin were on the news. Check it out here.
We announced a rally we hosted to get people to vote for us because we are finalists in the Beneful #DreamDogPark contest. If we win, our ideas will inspire a $500K dog park makeover in our area (in Utah).
We had lots of goodies for our furry friends and Jamba Juice treats for the humans.
I am extremely thankful to all who attended.
Others can vote for our entry DAILY until 12/5.

*1 vote per person per day.
Thank you for your support! (I've been told voting is open world wide)

MUSEUM DAY LIVE!

Today is free museum day! So I signed up for free tickets to The Leonardo.
Right now, they have a Spooky Science exhibit that is frighteningly fun.

Pack up the kiddies and go see it. The Leonardo has fun for both little and BIG kids.

In the spirit of Smithsonian Museums, who offer free admission everyday, Museum Day Live! is an annual event hosted by Smithsonian magazine in which participating museums across the country open their doors to anyone presenting a Museum Day Ticket... for free.

Last Summer On Earth Tour

I scored free tickets to the Last Summer on Earth Tour from Rewind 100.7 fm radio station tonight. Here's how it went:
Guster opened the show. Since the concert was outside and started at 7pm, they battled the blaze of the sun on Usnas’s west-facing stage. The lead singer mentioned he wasn't prepared for the brightness and people from the crowd gladly donated floppy hats and sunglasses to the band members.
Guster had a a fun, carefree performance of 11 songs and sometimes their drummer played with just his hands.

I was most excited that Ben Folds Five were playing together again at this show. However, their performance was just ok.
They played 11 songs without much time to talk in between (some of the bands old songs and new songs and a couple of Ben's solo stuff):
1. One Angry Dwarf and 200 Solemn Faces
2. Selfless, Cold and Composed
3. Erase Me
4. Sky High
5. Landed
6. Draw A Crowd
7. Brick
8. Do It Anyway
9. Underground
10. Song for the Dumped
11. Army
Barenaked Ladies headlined the show. The banter between the lead singer and the other guy who left the band just wasn't there. They tried...but it just did't quite work. The best part of the show was a little rap routine toward the end of the show. I found this on Youtube from another fine concertgoer.

RESOLUTIONS

It is a new year and this has lead me to do a lot of thinking. I want this year to be good. So I need to be good. Sounds easy enough, right?! So what do I have to do? Maybe clear some skeletons out of my closet and start new? I don't know how well this will go, but I am hoping it works for me.

#1 I want to apologize:
-because I used to just think bad words when I was upset...now I sometimes say them
-for taking more than "1 per customer" of the free dessert sesame pineapple at the Whistle Wok (mmm...best sesame chicken I've ever had)
-for sometimes not phoning back when I say I will (this one is not on purpose...I'm just bad at that)
-for ever telling my parents a half truth about where I was/what I was doing when I was a teenager (I was never breaking laws or anything-just sometimes hanging out with boys my mom didn't like...and she was right)
-for ever cheating in school throughout the years (even in Chemistry H when I'm sure the teacher knew the entire class copied the same 3 kids)
-for sneaking goodies to the movie theater (although I most likely will do this one again)
-for sometimes being too awesome at Boggle that I never gave my opponents a chance at winning
-for asking my mom if she needed help and silently repeating "please say no. please say no." in my head
-to all patrons who ever ate the same restaurant at the same time as me and my DA group of friends (we get kinda rowdy)

#2 I need to work on:
-being more kind
-not wanting to reprimand people who don't say please, thank you, or excuse me
-listening better
-taking shorter showers
-being more consistent with my exercise routine (or maybe actually starting one)
-eating less junk food
-not being a lazy blogger girl
-being a better real life friend

#3 I want to be:
-nicer
-more honest
-more understanding
-better at keeping my room clean

I think that's enough for now. Done and done. Happy new year to you and me!
