THE STRAY FILM #TheStray

I think you all know my love of dogs and good movies by now so there shouldn't be any surprise about me sharing this new film with you. The Stray, distributed by Purdie Distribution, is a heart-warming film that the whole family can watch together.
I was able to attend a special screening with the director Mitch Davis and most of the cast/crew in attendance.
He mentioned that the film was originally going to be released in 100 theaters, but it will be showing in over 600 theaters nationwide opening October 6, 2017. I am so happy for this news because it really is a sweet film.
The Stray tells the true story of a stray dog who saves a struggling family in more ways than one. I am pretty sure this is a story that many dog owners can relate to in one way or another. In this story, Pluto the Wonder Dog comes out of nowhere and instantly makes himself at home with the Davis family, who seem to quickly falling apart as a family unit. Pluto manages to save the family in many ways, ultimately giving the ultimate sacrifice and helping the family come closer.
Everyone involved in this film was so kind at the screening. They shook hands, smiled for photos, and signed autographs.
The dog who played Pluto even sat through the screening. I was able to meet her recently at another event (Sheepdog competition at Soldier Hollow) and she is such a sweet pooch.

Just quit reading my review and go see the movie!

A PIRATE'S DEATH FOR ME #PiratesOfTheCaribbean

I love everything pirates including the Pirates of the Caribbean movies. Well, guess what...there is a new one coming to theaters this weekend starring: Johnny Depp, Javier Bardem, Brenton Thwaites, Kevin R. McNally, Kaya Scodelario, Golshifteh Farahani, Stephen Graham, David Wenham and Geoffrey Rush.

Captain Jack Sparrow is back, but is feeling the winds of ill-fortune blowing strongly his way when deadly ghost sailors, led by the terrifying Captain Salazar, escape from the Devil's Triangle bent on killing every pirate at sea including Jack. Jack's only hope of survival lies in the legendary Trident of Poseidon, an uneasy alliance with a brilliant and beautiful astronomer, and getting help from a headstrong sailor in the Royal Navy (who is the son of well-known characters from previous pirates movies). There are sea-filled twists throughout the film that will keep your interest.

Disney BEAUTY & THE BEAST

The 1991 Beauty and the Beast is my favorite Disney animated film. I remember seeing it in the theater with my sister-in-law and being amazed at how real the library dance scene looked. Naturally, when I heard it was coming to the big screen as a live-action film, I was super excited.
Especially with it's all-star cast of actors like Emma Watson, Dan Stevens, Luke Evans, Kevin Kline, Josh Gad, Ewan McGregor, Stanley Tucci, Ian McKellen, and Emma Thompson just to name a few.

Add the fact that Celine Dion is going to perform an original song "How Does a Moment Last Forever" for the film and I don't know if it can get any better.

I saw it twice in theaters during opening week.
Wait, there's something more...starting April 7th, BEAUTY AND THE BEAST fans will be able to sing along with their favorite characters when the “Beauty and the Beast Sing-Along” hits approximately 1,200 theaters nationwide! That's right, you can view the film with on-screen lyrics for several of the songs (as if you weren't already secretly singing along to yourself in your theater recliner seat eating sour patch kids).

Feel free to print of these activity sheets below to keep the Beauty and the Beast excitement flowing in your house. If you haven't seen this film yet (at least a couple times), what are you waiting for?!

The New DISNEY BEAUTY AND THE BEAST

I remember going to the theater with my sister-in-law in 1991 to see Disney's animated film Beauty and the Beast.  The library dance scene looked so unbelievably real. I was hooked on the movie and the music instantly.
You can only imagine my excitement when Disney announced a live-action adaptation of the Studio's animated classic. It is even more exciting to here the cast: Emma Watson as Belle, Dan Stevens as the Beast and as the Prince, Luke Evans as Gaston, Kevin Kline as Maurice, Josh Gad as LeFou, Ewan McGregor as Lumière, Stanley Tucci as Cadenza, Gugu Mbatha-Raw as Plumette, Audra McDonald as Garderobe, Ian McKellen as Cogsworth, and Emma Thompson as Mrs. Potts.
Throw in Ariana Grande and John Legend singing the Beauty and the Beast iconic song and this is sure to a hit that I am so excited to see when it opens in theaters everywhere on March 17, 2017.

Disney MOANA

I was able to see Moana with my nieces and nephews a few weeks ago. My niece Jacq walked out repeating, "That was so good. I would see that again!"
MOANA stars voices from Dwayne Johnson (Maui) and newcomer Auli’i Cravalho (Moana). It was directed by Disney legends Ron Clements & Don Hall (“Aladdin,” “The Little Mermaid,” “The Princess and the Frog,” etc.) with music by Lin-Manuel Miranda (“Hamilton”).
The movie story celebrates the Pacific Island cultures and introduces new Disney characters that will keep you laughing and smiling throughout the entire film. It is a show that is great for the entire family.
The film opens in theaters November 23rd.

Enjoy some printables and games from the movie below.

DOCTOR STRANGE

Marvel's DOCTOR STRANGE opened in theaters November 4th.
Marvel Studios’ “Doctor Strange” follows the story of world-famous neurosurgeon Dr. Stephen Strange who, in his quest for healing his hands after a horrific car accident, discovers powerful magic in a mysterious place known as Kamar-Taj. He quickly learns that this is not just a center for healing but also the front line of a battle against unseen dark forces bent on destroying our reality. He makes new friends and discovers a new set of magical powers in his grasp.
FUN FACTS ABOUT THE FILM:
For those of ya'll who like to travel, you should know this film was shot in London, New York, Kathmandu (Nepal) and Hong Kong.

To research his character, Dr. Stephen Strange, Benedict Cumberbatch spent time with neurosurgeons, and the director, DP and production designer all visited New York City operating rooms and emergency rooms to guide them towards the lighting and textures they would need to create a realistic hospital environment onscreen.

Doctor Strange’s car in the film is a Lamborghini, which he drives when he is a surgeon. Six Lamborghinis were required for filming.
Here is a clip of one of my favorite parts:

DreamWork’s TROLLS

I was given the opportunity to view the DreamWork's Trolls movie. It is hilarious! Combine voices of some very talented actors (Anna Kendrick, Zooey Deschanel, James Corden, Gwen Stefani, Russell Brand, and a ton more), an amazing soundtrack including a song from Justin Timberlake, and gangs of hilarious lines and you have a movie that you absolutely MUST see.
I promise the entire family will love this movie and every character in it.
Don't believe me? Watch the official trailer:

STORKS / BABY SHOWER

I was able to see a screening of the movie Storks. Storks is a Warner Bros. Pictures presentation that is going to be released in 2D and 3D in select theaters on 9/23/16.

Storks deliver babies…or at least they used to. They have moved on to delivering other goods, but the Baby Making Machine accidentally gets turned on and one last delivery needs to be made. The animated adventure features voices from well-known talent like Andy Samberg, Kelsey Grammer, Key & Peele, Danny Trejo, and Katie Crown. It is hilarious and you NEED to see it. Find out more about the movie on it's Facebook page. #Storks is Rated PG and will have the whole family laughing.
In spirit of this film hitting theaters this month, and my best friend being super pregnant, we have a baby shower planned. I discovered a cool baby shower kit that makes planning so easy.
It is a cute box that comes with almost everything you need for hosting a shower like
thank you cards,
games, mommy advice card keepsakes/favors, place cards for seating,
and cute, easy to assemble decorations.
All you have to add is some food, a pregnant lady, and friends and family...and then wait for the stork to deliver the cute bundle of joy.
