Mikuláš

We were in Prague for Mikuláš this year. St. Nicholas (Mikuláš), the Angel (anděl) who represents the Good, and the Devil (čert) representing the Evil were walking the streets.

All three characters are supposed to walk the streets, stopping children to ask if they were good in the past year. Most kids say yes and sing a song or recite a short poem and are rewarded with sweet treats handed out by the angel. Bad kids are supposed to be put in the Devil's sack and taken to hell, or would only get a sack of potatoes or coal instead of candy. They are here to scare the kids to behave better.
Sounds a little creepy, eh?! Trust me, it is...but maybe a little like our creepy Halloween traditions.
For some reason, we mostly saw the Devils roaming the streets this year. Uh oh.

EVERMORE Pumpkin Fest

There is a super cool place set to open in 2015 located in Pleasant Grove, UT, called Evermore.
It will be a 45 acre adventure park. The park will be open year round with over half a dozen retail locations and three restaurants. Evermore will feature a cove and performance stage within the beautiful town square which will facilitate performances on a daily basis. The park will also have a castle that will be enveloped with elaborate gardens set in a magical Victorian atmosphere.
For Halloween, they are having a pumpkin fest.
It was full of lots of carved pumpkins,
fun characters,
a spectacular light show,
live musical performances,
and a haunted cemetery.

We were invited for a special VIP evening full of fun people,
food, and these fabulous drinks (can be made non-alcoholic and still yummy).
They have an autumn fest called Ripper's Cove, a winter fest named An Evermore Christmas, and a summer fest titled Carnival of Wonders. planned that you should definitely attend.

WOMENS PIRATE COSTUME

In celebration for Talk Like a Pirate Day, Krispy Kreme is giving out free doughnuts.
If you show up and talk like a pirate, you get a free doughnut.
Dress like a pirate, and get a free glazed dozen.

Did I participate? Ye better believe it, Matey.
I grabbed my Sea dog
and swashbucket crew and we yo ho hoed!
*Me thinks it was mighty nice of the Krispy Kreme landlubbers to grab a treat off the conveyor belt before it went under the wonderful glaze stream for my pirate pooch.

As you can see, we all had at least 3 of the required elements in order to score the glazed treasure, but our costumes were still lacking a little bit.
So, in order to be ready for next year, and to make sure they won't be stingy with thar donuts, I ordered the perfect gear.
Thar she blows! This will be me standing in line next year on Talk Like a Pirate Day.
Where did I find this and other great Women's Pirate Costume? This site has Halloween costumes, accessories, and party supplies for adults, kids, and even pets. COSTUMES

If you know me, you know I love holidays. I love everything about them from heart shaped pizzas for Valentine's Day, lights at Christmas, dining on green food for St. Patrick's Day, and wearing costumes for Halloween. Oh wait, I kinda dress up for all the holidays. I'm not the only one who dresses up though, the kitties and dog have been known to adorn special holiday party gear.

So where can you get such cool costumes? I just discovered a place online that sells costumes for any occasion - for people of all sizes and pets. It's called BuyCostumes.com. Just a few examples of costumes you will find on their site can be used for St. Patrick's Day, Mud Runs, Zombie Runs, Kids Dress Up Parties, or Cinco de Mayo costumes.
Have I received anything from this site? The answer is YES. I have a new outfit for Day-Z in the closet. I'm not sure if I want to reveal it for you in a photo yet. I want to save it for the day approaching in the future. BUT, if you want to spoil the surprise, you can view it here.
The company ships really fast and every order is backed by their Hassle-Free Return Policy and 110% Price Match Guarantee.  The Better Business Bureau has even named them the #1 online costume retailer.
So, if you're looking for a good costume for the upcoming holidays, this is the site for you!

They are totally plugged in so you can like them on Facebook, follow them on Twitter, and check out their videos on YouTube.

I received one or more of the products mentioned above for free using Tomoson.com. Regardless, I only recommend products or services I use personally and believe will be good for my readers.
