THE STRAY FILM #TheStray

I think you all know my love of dogs and good movies by now so there shouldn't be any surprise about me sharing this new film with you. The Stray, distributed by Purdie Distribution, is a heart-warming film that the whole family can watch together.
I was able to attend a special screening with the director Mitch Davis and most of the cast/crew in attendance.
He mentioned that the film was originally going to be released in 100 theaters, but it will be showing in over 600 theaters nationwide opening October 6, 2017. I am so happy for this news because it really is a sweet film.
The Stray tells the true story of a stray dog who saves a struggling family in more ways than one. I am pretty sure this is a story that many dog owners can relate to in one way or another. In this story, Pluto the Wonder Dog comes out of nowhere and instantly makes himself at home with the Davis family, who seem to quickly falling apart as a family unit. Pluto manages to save the family in many ways, ultimately giving the ultimate sacrifice and helping the family come closer.
Everyone involved in this film was so kind at the screening. They shook hands, smiled for photos, and signed autographs.
The dog who played Pluto even sat through the screening. I was able to meet her recently at another event (Sheepdog competition at Soldier Hollow) and she is such a sweet pooch.

Just quit reading my review and go see the movie!

The Year Santa Lost His List BOOK REVIEW

Who is excited about the Christmas holiday season coming soon? Christmas is my favorite holiday. One of my most memorable family memories is reading Christmas story books together as a family. We would all gather together around the tree in our new sets of pajamas and listen as my Dad read out loud a story to us. There was never anything too important to interrupt our story time.We completely disconnected from outside sources and spent quality family time together. Does your family have any holiday traditions that hold a special place in your heart?
If you are like us, and are looking for a new holiday book this year, I have a great recommendation. For young readers, I cannot say any bad things about The Year Santa Lost His List.
It is a super fun story with easy words to read and bright illustrations that will keep your young readers (heck, even the older readers) entertained. It might be fun for family members to pass the book around and all take turns reading out loud. This book is perfect for that idea.
The Year Santa Lost His List also has a great meaning in the story that will make your heart smile.
Santa loses his list before Christmas. He is getting his sleigh ready when a big gust of wind blows his list out of his hands. Will he be able to give the correct gifts to right children? He delivered ice skates to Julie, who always wanted to be an artist. Noah, who was totally into playing baseball, received a guitar and microphone. Can the disaster be reconciled and everyone be happy or could this possibly be the worst Christmas mix up ever?
Of course, you know I'm not going to tell you the answer. You have to read the story and find out for yourself.
This book was published in October 2016. It is the author's second book. Look for it on Amazon and it to your library this holiday season.

I received this book at a discounted price in return for my honest opinion.
I gave this book to my younger nieces and nephews who love Christmas. They enjoyed the book and have probably read it 29 times already in one week. It is great for young readers with clear text and bright illustrations to keep their interest. The book has just the perfect amount of pages to read. This will definitely be a book that gets read by the entire family every year at Christmas holiday times. Check it out to see if Santa finds his list and can deliver the right presents to all of the children.
