It's maddening that they never ask for my ID when I buy the items, but if I should want to return something "it's their policy to request ID"

Maddening I say....Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16972739790941695481noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7244020544609192518.post-67306756320170999282013-04-04T23:53:20.276-06:002013-04-04T23:53:20.276-06:00To Jeff - I bet they didn't ask for ID when yo...To Jeff - I bet they didn't ask for ID when you paid to set it up!

To Deanna - I feel your pain! The policy is so not to protect YOU. It's so they can keep track of how often people are returning things to see trends of potentially fraudulent customers (which I still don't totally understand but I used to work in retail and that's what they told me). I mean, seems to me if you have the receipt and the product, then even if you come back every day to return something, who cares? It's your life to waste buying and returning things!Vicki Lesagehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04756527499531934545noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7244020544609192518.post-71437860300360907362013-04-04T17:41:51.405-06:002013-04-04T17:41:51.405-06:00I had a similar experience with the cable company....I had a similar experience with the cable company. Our cable had quit working. I was at work, and my brother (who lived with me at the time) was at home, so he called the cable company to have them fix the problem. They wouldn't work with him because he wasn't the account owner.

I figured, if someone wants to break into my house and sit in front of my TV and help work with the cable company to fix my cable, they are more than welcome to do so.

Some companies are ridiculous.
