Happy Birthday to the moms!
We had a little celebration for my mom to celebrate her today.
Thursday, February 19, 2015
I remember my brother Tim and I coming home from school, walking in the house, and being hit by the most delicious scent. It smelled as if our mother had spent the entire day making sugar cookies and other baked goodies for us. We would throw our coats shoes and backpacks off and race to kitchen to get to them first, but, to our surprise, we didn't see any sweets. We searched the kitchen and then realized it was a dang candle she had burning because our mom didn't bake. That scene happened at least 4 times before we wouldn't let our noses trick us any longer.
Times have changed a little since I was in school...ahem...and I know people don't like to burn candles as much because they don't want black spots on their walls or ceilings and they don't want to have to worry about whether or not they blew the candle out when they went out for the night. Guess what--that's why this company I'm going to tell you about started. Candle Warmers Etc. (a Utah company woot! woot!) brought the first plate-style warmer to the market in 2001 after a candle-sparked fire destroyed a neighbor’s house. The man behind the company was determined to come up with a safer method to enjoy candles without the dangers of an open flame. Genius!
I have the candle warmer lantern pictured above and it is so stinking cute!
Candle Warmers Etc. sells THE most chic plate candle warmers, candle warmer lamps and lanterns, ceramic warmers, plug-in warmers, illumination warmers, and candle warmer lamp accessories. They also manufacture and sell scrumptious smelling candles and wax melt under the name City Creek Candles. HINT: try the vanilla cinnamon scent.

I was asked the question, "What would you do to show off the GoPro Hero 4?"
I just might:
drive a Ferrari in Italy
fly in a helicopter through the Bavarian forest
go sailing on the seas
zip line through the jungle...
I think the better question is "What wouldn't you do to show off the GoPro Hero 4?!"
Life is good. Let's find an adventure.

The groundhog told us we will have 6 more weeks of winter. I respect the groundhog, but it has been super warm weather in Utah this February so far. This makes me super excited for Spring/Summer camping. I have been collecting gear for a good trip. One of my favorite new items is this
It's made of sturdy rubber and ABS plastic construction for maximum durability and water resistance.
It has a removable top for focused forward lighting or it can be used as a hanging area light.
Thankfully, the LED lights used in the lamp are guaranteed for up to 100,000 hours of use and never need replacing.
Three D size batteries are needed for the lamp (and not included with purchase). It can be used continuously for up to six days. This makes it a must have for any type of emergency and is safer and longer lasting than any type of emergency candle. This means the lamp is not just for camping--you can pack it for camping, hiking, boating, and emergency use. BUT, I'm using it to camp. Who wants to go?

Do you struggle like me to get fuller, shinier, stronger hair? Shampoos and conditioners can sometimes help a little, but don't cure the problem. I have recently tried 2 amazing products. The first is Biotin for Hair Growth by Superior Nutrient.
This biotin formula is packed with nutritious vitamins minerals and herbal extracts which support healthy hair growth. Your thin and wispy hair will become stronger, healthier and more vibrant. In addition to your hair, biotin also helps your skin and nails - BONUS!
This product is gluten, wheat, dairy free. It also contains no artificial colors, flavors, sweeteners or preservatives and is made in the USA. If you decide to purchase this product, it comes with a free 60 Day 100% money back guarantee - no questions asked. I love when a company stands behind their product like that. You only have to take 1 easy to swallow (extra strength 5000 mcg per serving of pure B-Complex vitamin) capsule daily.
The second amazing product is Evergreen Nature’s Hair Skin & Nails Vitamins.
These vitamins contain 3000 mcg of biotin which may help promote hair growth and reduce hair loss. It also contains selenium and zinc which work with your body to encourage hair growth and help prevent future hair loss so you can have thicker, healthier hair. So the name of these vitamins is hair skin & nails. This means they also contain several essential B vitamins that help with healthy nails. Vitamin B2 (Riboflavin) helps your body absorb the essential mineral iron, which is necessary for healthy and strong nails. All of these things will get stronger from within. This product is also made in the USA (LOVE that).
Here's to stronger hair, skin, and nails. Cheers.

I am sure all of you have been hearing about the new Cinderella movie coming to theaters on March 13, 2015.
Just in case you haven't, here is the official US trailer #2.
Cinderella has a beautiful blue gown, great shoes, and a sweet ride to the ball.
But I want to hear more about Prince Charming!
This gives me a great idea for Halloween and other costume parties coming up this year. Who wouldn't love to dress up in the wicked step sisters, Cinderella, the Wicked Stepmother, helpful little mice, the Fairy Godmother, or Prince Charming costumes?!
I'm loving the Prince Charming characters in movie this year (even in Into the Woods). I found a super cool Prince Charming costume at Costume SuperCenter that I have my fingers crossed to talk some stud into wearing with me to a party. It is pretty sweet and includes the pants, tailcoat, and sash. To the men thinking dressing as Prince Charming might not be the toughest costume, just imagine all the ladies swooning and falling madly in love with you, in the hopes that you will take their hand in marriage and they will live happily ever after with you in your palace because wearing their men's Storybook Prince Charming Costume will have this effect on people.*
*This effect on people is not guaranteed and may not make a man choose this costume, but it's a good story, right?!

I took my Day-Z dog on her first road trip that was longer than the 30 minute ride to our local dog park.
She was a little nervous in the car, but nothing her bed and a blanket couldn't calm.

Day-Z shook her pompoms for the Patriots during Super Bowl XLIX last weekend.
What do we do now since the big game is over?
We watch football movies.
I'm a sucker for good football and baseball movies. The latest one I watched is called 23 Blast. You can watch the trailer HERE.
It was released in a limited number of screens at theaters in the fall of last year, and it was released on DVD January 20th. It's rated PG-13 (I think because it shows a beer bottle on school property), but I'd say it is pretty safe for the entire family to watch. Here's the movie plot: Travis Freeman is a local hero both on and off the high-school football field in his small Kentucky town. Travis mysteriously contracts an infection that destroys his optic nerve and leaves him blind overnight. His coach has an idea to keep him on the football team despite how others might feel. The movie is based on a true story and is totally inspirational. You will love it!

I used to be a member of a country dancing team, and then I started traveling and dancing with them wasn't possible. It appears that I'm in Utah for a good chunk of time now and the team just sent me an invitation for a road trip to dance our way across the states to the Grand Ole Opry.
That means it's time to dust off my boots, turn on the country music, and get scootin. It's time to be a little bit more country. I'll share my favorite song of the week to help get you in the country mood too.
